Don Bosco Solar and Renewable Energy Training Centre was established to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in solar photovoltaic (PV) technology and renewable energy across Africa. Building on the successful Don Bosco solar training initiatives first launched in Ethiopia in 2014, the program expanded to Ghana under the leadership of Bro. Christof Baum, bringing years of technical expertise and practical experience in solar energy education.

Since its establishment in Ghana, the centre has become a leading institution for competency-based Solar PV training, equipping young people, electricians, technicians, and industry professionals with practical skills in system design, installation, maintenance, and repair. Our training combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on experience using real solar installations and a campus mini-grid that is largely powered by renewable energy.

Today, Don Bosco Solar continues to empower individuals across West Africa with industry-relevant renewable energy skills while supporting sustainable development and expanding access to clean, reliable energy for communities. Guided by the Salesian tradition of technical excellence and youth empowerment, we remain committed to developing the next generation of solar professionals who will drive Africa’s clean energy future.
