Don Bosco Solar proudly participated in the 4th Hydrogen Summer School, held from 29 June to 3 July 2026 at the University of Western Macedonia’s ZEP Campus in Kozani, Greece. Organised under the H2VE (Hydrogen Centres of Vocational Excellence) project. The event brought together educators, researchers, industry experts, and vocational education and training (VET) institutions from Germany, Italy, Poland, Latvia, Greece, and Ghana.

The week-long programme provided an excellent platform for participants to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in hydrogen technologies through expert lectures, interactive workshops, and site visits. Discussions focused on hydrogen production, storage, fuel cells, safety, and the growing role of hydrogen systems.

As Ghana’s representative in the H2VE project, Don Bosco Solar delivered a presentation on the country’s energy landscape and the enormous potential for green hydrogen development. The presentation highlighted Ghana’s abundant renewable energy resources, particularly solar energy, and explored how these resources can support hydrogen production. It also addressed opportunities for hydrogen applications in industry, transportation, electricity generation, and green ammonia production, while discussing the challenges that must be overcome to establish a hydrogen economy.

The summer school offered valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among project partners. Participants exchanged experiences, shared best practices, and explored innovative approaches to hydrogen education and workforce development. The industrial visits further provided first-hand insight into the practical implementation of hydrogen technologies and demonstrated how Hydrogen Valleys are contributing to the global energy transition.

Participation in the summer school marks another important milestone in Don Bosco Solar’s commitment to advancing renewable energy education and supporting Ghana’s transition.

Through continued international collaboration and capacity building, Don Bosco Solar remains dedicated to equipping the next generation of technicians and professionals with the skills required to drive innovation in renewable energy and hydrogen technologies.
