About Us

A Brief History

Don Bosco Solar and Renewable Energy Training Centre was established to meet the growing demand for skilled Solar PV professionals in Africa. Building on the successful Don Bosco solar training initiative launched in Ethiopia in 2014, the centre expanded to Ghana to provide competency-based, hands-on training in solar photovoltaic and renewable energy technologies. Today, it is recognized for equipping young people, technicians, and professionals with practical skills in solar system design, installation, and maintenance while promoting environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and access to clean, reliable energy across West Africa.

Who We Are

The Salesians of Don Bosco are a global religious congregation founded by St. John Bosco, dedicated to serving young people, especially those who are poor and disadvantaged. Present in over 130 countries, the Salesians empower youth through education, technical training, and skills development, enabling them to build meaningful careers and transform their communities.

Inspired by the vision and educational philosophy of St. John Bosco, Don Bosco Solar and Renewable Energy Training Centre is committed to preparing the next generation of renewable energy professionals. We provide competency-based training in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) technology, combining practical, hands-on learning with industry-relevant knowledge to equip our trainees for success.

Our mission goes beyond technical education. We are dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, gender equality, and social inclusion while fostering personal, vocational, and ethical development. By emphasizing quality training and practical experience, we empower young people with the skills needed to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions and build sustainable livelihoods.

At Don Bosco Solar, we believe that investing in young people is investing in a brighter, greener, and more sustainable future for Africa.

Our Vision

To be the best solar training center in West Africa in the next five years. To have six training modules covering all the topics of photovoltaic solar in the next two years and have at least six training courses per year

To give training to electric students and electric professionals in installation and serving of PV solar with the support of qualified and experienced staff

Committed in training a maximum number of twenty-five students in each of our courses; this will give students the possibility to gain practical experiences without any hindrances.
